   Kernel updates on linux-omarchy install a prebuilt NVIDIA driver

   A kernel update on linux-omarchy had been compiling the NVIDIA driver. A change merged into quattro installs the prebuilt linux-omarchy-nvidia-open package instead of nvidia-open-dkms, so the update does not compile that driver.

   A change merged into quattro skips the kernel migration when limine-mkinitcpio is absent, so a machine on another boot loader is not left blocking later migrations.

   Unencrypted hibernation on more than one NVMe disk names resume by filesystem UUID

   On an unencrypted install with more than one NVMe disk, a change merged into quattro names resume by filesystem UUID when setup runs again. A machine set up before keeps the kernel name until then. Encrypted installs and hand-edited drop-ins are left alone.

   Update menu marks the kernel Limine boots by default

   Pull request 15966, merged into quattro, switches the default kernel from Update > Kernel when more than one is installed. The version 4.0.6 notes say an existing machine can upgrade with Update > Omarchy.

   Apple Silicon kernel covers M1, M2, M3, and MacBook Neo

   Joshua Warren said Omarchy's own Linux kernel now covers M1, M2, M3, and MacBook Neo machines, with external monitors, Thunderbolt docks, and Touch ID, in this post. He said this kernel is still an edge release, so the public installer will not install it yet.

    The N1x install list names linux-omarchy

    Pull request 15356, merged into n1x, names the kernel package linux-omarchy instead of linux-omarchy-n1x. emirb wrote that it was not tested on a laptop, and that N1x laptops in use are being reinstalled. It is not in version 4.0.4.

    Pull request 14771 merges a kernel argument against a black screen at boot. emirb wrote that about one boot in 10 stopped on a black screen until a key was pressed. The merge is not in version 4.0.4.

    An upgrade can leave an older install unable to boot

    On older Omarchy installs, an upgrade can leave the machine unable to boot for about 10 seconds, until a fix that pins root= first. Pull request 6951 merged into quattro.
