Version 4.5.0 offers a traditional desktop beside tiling
Version 4.5.0 is the release. A machine already on Omarchy runs Update > Omarchy, and the notes ship a floating workspace with a dock beside tiling, a native install on an M1, M2, M3, or Neo MacBook, and 50 languages.
Read the story →A ZBook Ultra G3a profile exposes speakers, headphones, and microphones
On the HP ZBook Ultra G3a, PipeWire offered only a Dummy Output. A profile merged into quattro defines the TAS2783 speaker and sets the four amps to 21 dB, and on that laptop PipeWire exposes the speakers, the headphones, and the microphones.
Enrollment completes on a ZBook Ultra G3a 16-inch with the phantom port disabled
Fingerprint enrollment on the HP ZBook Ultra G3a never asked for a touch, because a phantom USB port stalled the hub. A rule merged into quattro disables that port only when its connect_type is not used, and on a 16-inch enrollment and verification complete.
Colors on an M2 Pro with a Pro Display XDR match that display on a PC
A Pro Display XDR on Apple Silicon showed every color oversaturated. A change merged into quattro maps sRGB into a wide-gamut display's gamut, and on an M2 Pro the colors match that display on a PC. The built-in panel stays on sRGB.
Animations turn off when Hyprland draws on the CPU
A change merged into quattro turns animations, blur, and shadows off when Hyprland draws on the CPU with llvmpipe, softpipe, or Software Rasterizer. On an M3 Air they went off. Multi-GPU machines, including NVIDIA hybrids, and virtual machines were not tested.
The F1 installer cuts install times roughly in half
The notes say the F1 installer unpacks a prebuilt root image and cuts install times roughly in half on any machine. Anush Elangovan from AMD set the world record with a full install in 7 seconds on his AMD laptop.
Hype, Signed, Disktree, Monologue, and Gliff join the defaults
Hype, Signed, Disktree, Monologue, and Gliff join the default apps, and Elsewhen sits beside the clock in the bar, in the notes. New installs leave out OBS Studio, Kdenlive, and Lazydocker, and a machine that already has those keeps them. Docker and Docker Compose stay.
A Hyprland upgrade skips the reload that raised a config error
An update that upgrades Hyprland and Omarchy's settings together showed a config error banner until a restart, because the reload hit the old binary. A change merged into quattro skips that reload when the running binary was replaced, and leaves errors hidden.
A fresh install invites agent and fingerprint setup once a link is up
A fresh install saw the agent invitation only after the first update, and the fingerprint invitation waited the same way. The first-run wifi step merged into quattro sends both once a link is up, before the update check.
A bar keeps one agents panel across the widget rename
A bar that still had omarchy.model-usage, and took both agents migrations at once, showed two panels side by side. The earlier migration merged into quattro treats that old id as the widget already there. A bar that already has two panels is not cleaned up.
Cam Link 4K packages go on the ISO offline mirror list
An install from the ISO on an N1x with a Cam Link 4K plugged in stops. The mirror lacks v4l2loopback-dkms, v4l2loopback-utils, and v4l2-relayd. A change merged into quattro puts the three on the hardware list, and no rebuilt Cam Link install has been checked.
Dell sent an RTX 6000 Blackwell for Omarchy QA
ThePrimeagen wrote that Dell sent him an NVIDIA RTX 6000 Blackwell, an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, and 128G of RAM for Omarchy QA, in a post. He wrote that the machine allows 30 instances of QEMU and 60 bun programs running custom harnesses.
In brief
Omarchy 4.6 is already far along
David Heinemeier Hansson wrote that Omarchy 4.6 is already far along and won't take as long to drop, naming a full Snapdragon line-up, the NVIDIA N1x machines, out-of-the-box local AI, and Omarchy Kids among the promises that weren't ready for 4.5, in his post.
