A ZBook Ultra G3a profile exposes speakers, headphones, and microphones
On the HP ZBook Ultra G3a, PipeWire offered only a Dummy Output. A profile merged into quattro defines the TAS2783 speaker and sets the four amps to 21 dB, and on that laptop PipeWire exposes the speakers, the headphones, and the microphones.
On the HP ZBook Ultra G3a, PipeWire offers only a Dummy Output, which takes out the speakers, the headset jack, and both microphones. The sound card reports spk:tas2783 hs:rt712 mic:rt712, and the stock profile has no tas2783 setup to load.
A machine profile defines the TAS2783 speaker and reuses the stock setup for the headphones, the headset mic, and the internal mics. The four amps are set to their full 21 dB analog gain when the speaker opens. They come up at 17 dB, which is quiet even at 100%.
On the laptop, with the profile laid over the stock tree, PipeWire exposes Speaker, Headphones, SoundWire Microphones, and Headset Mono Microphone. Playback and capture work, and the amp gain is applied. A migration restarts WirePlumber on this model, so the profile takes effect without a reboot. The pull request merged into quattro.
