Animations turn off when Hyprland draws on the CPU
A change merged into quattro turns animations, blur, and shadows off when Hyprland draws on the CPU with llvmpipe, softpipe, or Software Rasterizer. On an M3 Air they went off. Multi-GPU machines, including NVIDIA hybrids, and virtual machines were not tested.
When Hyprland has no GPU driver to draw with, every animated frame is drawn on the CPU, so animations stutter and keep a core busy. Animations, blur, and shadows turn off when the renderer is llvmpipe, softpipe, or Software Rasterizer. That covers a Mac whose GPU is not driven yet, a virtual machine, and a broken driver.
At session start Omarchy asks Mesa which renderer the primary GPU got, reloads with the lighter defaults, and logs one journal line. The user's own Hyprland config loads after those defaults, so it can turn animations or blur back on. Appearance > Animations On brings them back and remembers that choice.
On an M3 Air forced onto llvmpipe for one session, animations, blur, and shadows went off, including with the Glassy bar on. The toggle changes on top have not been run on hardware. Multi-GPU machines, including NVIDIA hybrids, and virtual machines were not tested. The pull request merged into quattro.
