ARM update checks read the kernel module list
Pull request 14447, merged into quattro, checks modules.builtin for a kernel update on ARM, instead of a vmlinuz file Arch Linux ARM does not ship there. birkskyum wrote that a Yoga Slim 7x prompted on every update. The merge is not in version 4.0.4.
On Arch Linux ARM, birkskyum said every omarchy update ends with "Linux kernel has been updated. Reboot?". The old check looks for a package-owned vmlinuz next to the kernel modules. linux-aarch64 does not ship one there. The merged check uses modules.builtin, which birkskyum said every kernel package owns, the x86 kernels included. A kernel that does ship vmlinuz there, such as linux-omarchy, behaves as before.
birkskyum wrote that on a Yoga Slim 7x the current check reports an update on every run, and the new one reports the running kernel correctly. He opened and merged the pull request. The change is the check in quattro, not a release.
