An M1 Max on Omarchy beat macOS on GPU memory bandwidth
Joshua Warren measured 368 GB/s of GPU memory bandwidth on an M1 Max running Omarchy, against 361 GB/s on macOS and 241 GB/s before, in his post. He said one bit fixed it.
The readings are on the same chip. The kernel had not told the power controller the GPU was busy.
Asked whether the test was an M1 Max or all M1s, he said the test was on an M1 Max, and that this speedup should benefit all M1 chips, potentially all M chips.
