Tailscale panel keeps only the rows on screen
Pull request 7623, merged into quattro, keeps only the visible rows in the Tailscale machine list. iskakaushik wrote that a tailnet of about 3,900 machines had been making the shell unusable.
On a machine with 3,933 peers and two monitors, he reported about 4.6 seconds of shell processor time on each poll, about 15% average Quickshell processor use, and memory past 7 GB across a workday. After the change he reported about 0.17 seconds of that processor time, under 1% average use, and about 520 MB of memory.
While the panel is closed, the poll asks Tailscale for status without the peer list. The full list loads when the panel opens, and a search field filters it. He wrote that small tailnets look and behave as before.
