Enable command leaves an output rule's remaining fields
Pull request 16147, merged into quattro, changes the enable command to supply only the output and disabled set to false, so the existing output rule keeps its remaining fields. zihaomu wrote that a complete Quickshell panel-click flow was not tested.
zihaomu wrote that the enable command also supplied mode set to preferred, position set to auto, and scale set to auto, and that those values overwrote a user's monitor layout. He wrote that a portrait output configured on the left can return on the right, at another scale and mode.
The pull request says the disable command, the output-name escaping, and the last-enabled-display guard keep their existing behavior. zihaomu wrote that an additional custom wildcard-rule control loses inherited mode and scale values after toggling, on both the original and the patched sources, and that this inherited-rule behavior remains unresolved.
He wrote that physical DisplayPort hotplug and suspend were not tested.
