Identical monitors keep their workspace blocks after an unplug
Pull request 15867, merged into quattro, keeps a connected monitor's workspace block when two monitors share a description. Unplugging the first had given the second that block, so workspace 22 became 12.
The pull request says the two monitors were told apart by connector order, recalculated on every change, and the unplugged monitor's workspaces were later restored to the wrong screen. It says a connected monitor keeps the identity it has, and only new monitors take the lowest free #N.
It says a workspace moved onto a reused number was sent to the returning monitor, because an old return record survived. The pull request says that destination record is now always replaced. The bar ignored XDG_STATE_HOME, and the pull request says it now reads the same state directory paths.state_home resolves.
