Each monitor gets its own workspaces in quattro
Pull request 15655, merged into quattro, not in version 4.0.5, gives every monitor its own workspaces 1–10, the way the pull request says Niri does. Super + 2 goes to the second workspace on the focused monitor, and its bar lists only its own.
The pull request says Super + 1 used to open whichever monitor happened to own workspace 1, and that unplugging left those workspaces as an extra set in the laptop's bar.
The pull request says Hyprland still numbers workspaces across all monitors, so each monitor owns a block of ten: the laptop screen gets 1–10 and the next monitor 11–20. A block is tied to the monitor's make, model, and serial, not the port, and the blocks are listed in ~/.local/state/omarchy/monitor-workspaces.
It says Super + Tab and Super + scroll cycle inside the focused monitor. Super + Shift + Alt + Arrows moves the current workspace to the monitor in that direction, and Super + Shift + Ctrl + Arrows moves the focused window onto the workspace that monitor is showing. It says unplugging a monitor merges its workspaces into the screen they land on, and that they return to their old numbers when the monitor comes back, or stay as guests if that screen has no free numbers left.
The pull request says saved layouts do not follow a renumbered workspace, and that monitors that only touch at a corner cannot reach each other with the arrow binds. It says the change was tested on the N1x with the laptop screen plus an LG, a XENEON EDGE, and an ASUS PA32QCV.
