Super + Shift + S is merged as a screenshot shortcut
Pull request 8827, merged into quattro, binds Super + Shift + S to a screenshot. Print Screen stays. It says existing user configs are not migrated: the package swaps the default binding files on update. The merge is not in version 4.0.4.
The pull request says Print Screen is awkward or absent on a lot of hardware, that most laptops put it behind a function layer, and that Apple, Logitech MX Keys, and plenty of compact keyboards have no Print Screen key. It says the guide for people coming from macOS or Windows maps Cmd + Shift + 4 and Win + Shift + S to Super + Shift + S or Print Screen.
The pull request moves Google Maps from Super + Shift + S to Super + Shift + Alt + S, with the other secondary web apps. It says existing user configs are not migrated, and that the package swaps the default binding files on update.
Ryan Hughes said he forgot that MacBooks have no Print Screen button, and asked what to use instead. Hughes merged the change.
Scott Jones said, “Before we removed it... we used Super-F11 for screenshot and Super-F12 for video!”
