Logout proceeds once applications finish closing
Pull request 15231, merged into quattro, ends a logout, reboot, or shutdown once window-owning applications exit, and still stops waiting after two seconds. David Heinemeier Hansson reports Chromium leaving in about 100 ms in a virtual-machine test. The merge is not in version 4.0.4.
Logout, reboot, and shutdown had waited a fixed two seconds for applications such as Chromium to finish closing. The merged commands proceed when the window-owning processes exit, and they keep the two-second deadline when an application stays running or refuses to close. David Heinemeier Hansson said Chromium can still be saving its clean-shutdown state after its window disappears.
The actions live in omarchy-system logout, reboot, and shutdown. The shortcuts omarchy logout, omarchy reboot, and omarchy shutdown still work. In a virtual-machine test, David Heinemeier Hansson reports Chromium exiting in about 100 ms and a logout with Chromium taking about 350 to 450 ms. He reports that a reboot left no crash-recovery warning when the profile reopened, and that a shutdown let Chromium exit in about 142 ms. David Heinemeier Hansson opened and merged pull request 15231.
