Floating workspaces enter the layout cycle, merged into quattro
Super+L cycles in a floating layout, with titlebars on those workspaces, in pull request 14482, merged into quattro. The merge is not in version 4.0.4.
The merged cycle is dwindle, then scrolling, then floating. On a floating workspace every window floats. Leaving that layout tiles only the windows the mode itself floated, so dialogs and pinned windows stay floating. The bar marks the focused workspace with a square, a circle, or a triangle, and a click cycles the layout the way Super+L does.
A floating workspace gets titlebars in the theme's colors, with maximize and close. Double-clicking a titlebar maximizes the window and keeps the bar visible. A web app's title is the app's name. The titlebars come from a Hyprland plugin. Hyprland is the program that draws the windows. The pull request says floating still works without titlebars if that package is missing. The first floating workspace reloads Hyprland so the plugin can load.
Workspace Layout, under Trigger, then Appearance, sets the default to tiling, scrolling, or floating. Named workspaces are left alone. The pull request says an earlier toggle read a named workspace's negative id as a relative selector and changed workspace 1. There is no minimize and no edge snapping. ryanrhughes opened it and wrote that an XPS 13 showed titlebars. David Heinemeier Hansson merged it.
