Three status checks refresh on change in the merged bar
Passwordless sudo, the power profile, and the workspace glyph refresh on change in pull request 15026, pull request 15027, and pull request 15028. The merges are not in version 4.0.4.
The passwordless sudo mark was running a check every 5 seconds on every monitor. In the merged shell, omarchy-sudo-passwordless asks the bar to refresh after that access changes. A timed grant starts a user timer that refreshes the mark 2 seconds after the deadline. If that refresh is missed, the icon stays red, and a click reports that access is already off and clears it. David Heinemeier Hansson wrote that an idle desktop made no such check for 20 seconds.
Hansson wrote that the battery service was asking the power profile every 2 seconds, about 43,000 processes a day, because the lock-screen video stops in power-saver on battery. The merged service follows Quickshell's binding and updates on a change. Until that answer arrives, the profile reads as balanced, so a guess does not stop the video. He wrote that the starting value followed the daemon, and that a power-saver switch was not confirmed from the session that prepared the change.
Every workspace switch was running a script on every monitor just to pick the layout glyph. The merged widget reads each workspace's layout once and drops that memory when the layouts refresh or when Hyprland reloads its configuration. Hyprland is the program that draws the windows. Hansson wrote that eight switches between two workspaces ran the script once. He opened and merged all three pull requests.
