A Hyprland reload keeps the saved startup pointer in this merge
Pull request 14935 merges a recovery for a startup pointer that Hyprland can drop on reload. Spencer Bull wrote that one virtual machine lost the pointer. The merge is not in version 4.0.4.
Hyprland, the program that draws the windows, rebuilds its scripting state when the configuration reloads, and it can keep the blank pointer used for the boot intro. The merged code stores the pending reveal and the user's cursor theme in the compositor session, so that reload does not drop them. It restores a saved theme, and the system default only when no preference remains.
Bull wrote that the tests fail on the previous module and pass with this change. He wrote that a Proxmox virtual machine running version 4.0.4 and Hyprland 0.56.2-2 lost the pointer after a real reload, and that a separate cold start hid the pointer at boot and showed it after the reveal.
Bull wrote that an orphaned pointer was covered by a mock, because the live fixture did not produce an invisible seed, and that the newest development image was not checked. He wrote that the change reproduces an invisible pointer and does not establish what triggered the original report. He opened and merged the pull request.
