A click can freeze an app that is holding memory
Andrés Villagrán, of the design team, published a task manager that freezes memory-heavy apps on Omarchy with one click, in this post.
Villagrán said Chrome was using 4 GB while he read email, and that freezing those apps drops memory and resumes the app where it was. A follow-up says the marker over a frozen window is a green Omi, and links the repository.
He said the freezer uses the cgroup v2 freezer through a user systemd service, with no root and no daemon, in another post. He also said a memory squeeze moved 637 MB to swap in 3 seconds, and that the helper is 453 KB.
